Dedicated Parking Space Management Feature

As short-term rental hosts, many of us provide additional resources, such as parking spaces, that are not directly linked to one specific unit. In properties with multiple units and only one or a few parking spaces, managing parking assignments and avoiding double bookings is a constant logistical challenge. Currently, iGMS does not allow us to allocate or track parking spaces with the same visibility and automation as accommodation units.

Feature Request:
I would like iGMS to introduce a dedicated feature for managing ancillary resources like parking spaces. The key elements needed are:

1. Resource Inventory Management:

   • Ability to add parking spaces (and other extras) as distinct resources, separate from units.

   • Set the total number available and assign or unassign to specific reservations.

2. Automated Availability Tracking:

   • When one guest reserves a parking space for specific dates, the system should automatically block it from being assigned to others for overlapping periods (to avoid double booking).

3. Booking Add-on Integration:

   • Allow guests to request or book a parking space as an add-on during the reservation process, with automatic confirmation/denial based on availability.

4. Calendar & Reporting:

   • Dedicated calendar view for parking spaces (similar to units) and basic reporting (e.g., which reservations have parking).

5. Automated Messaging & Confirmation:

   • Trigger custom messaging templates based on parking assignment (e.g., confirmation with access instructions, notification of unavailability).

6. Manual Override and Notes:

   • Option for hosts to manually assign, block, or move parking spaces between bookings.

Adding this feature would streamline operations for hosts with shared resources, improve transparency for guests, and help iGMS stand out as the go-to solution for flexible property management.
