Different platforms charge hosts different channel fees. Hosts tend to make the most amount of revenues if bookings are direct (0% channel fees), followed by VRBO (5% channel fees) and then Airbnb and Booking.com (around 15 - 16% channel fees).
As such, an ideal system would allow for hosts to maximize direct bookings first, followed by VRBO and then the other 2 platforms. However, the current availability window is the same for all platforms, meaning hosts might get bookings from higher channel-fee platforms before they can get bookings from lower channel-fee platforms.
We would like to propose a feature where we can set different availability windows for different platforms. In this example, a host could choose to have their Direct Booking availability be open 12 months in Advance, their VRBO availability be open 8 months in advance, and their Booking.com/Airbnb availability window open 4 months in advance. This would help ensure that hosts get a chance to get bookings from low-fee platforms first.
