I would encourage y'all to have them turned off by default. While I understand it is trying to do us as hosts a favor by automating things, if I as an airbnb host don't know that and that is not communicated to me, it's pretty embarrassing to have a review written by "me" and especially if they were not a great guest and shouldn't have received that type of review, which has happened to me. I take time to figure out how to handle the situation and make a reimbursement request and then a stellar review gets written of the guest, itβs just confusing for guests and embarrassing for me.
I would encourage y'all to let the host turn those on manually. Plus, it seems like a legal issue when things are getting turned on without a host approving.
